4 Affiliate Marketing Tips You Can Count On
March 10th, 2010
Affiliate marketing isn’t very different from any other business out there, it’s just the same thing with a cyber twist. The techniques used are about the same as the ones used for a regular business. But, you will have a lot of other affiliate businesses that you will be in competition with, so it will be a bit harder. The most important thing in affiliate marketing is fro you to find a way to stand out from the rest of the marketers. This article will go over the four tips which can help improve the skills of any affiliate marketer, thus increasing your long term profits.
1) Look for the Larger Products – with larger products you can get higher commissions faster, Clickbank is a marketplace where you can choose from hundreds of products that sell in the $47-$97 range. With Clickbank, the commission can be as high as 50% on every item they produce. But imagine if you sold a bigger product, let’s say, $400 and you made $200 in commission, wouldn’t that be great? Much better than the commission at Clickbank right? Well, the point is, you have to put in effort, time and money to really get a customer to buy a product, so what’s the harm in promoting a bigger product and achieving a higher payout from it? It just makes sense to do so.
2) Have a Themed Site – Choose quality and relevant keywords that will help you promote your affiliate program, and create a strongly themed site around those keywords. Once again, if you are selling base ball gloves, then you are going to want to provide baseball themed site. All of your content, articles, tips, and news, need to be slanted to the interests of people in the market for catcher’s gloves. When you offer high value to your prospects, they have more than one reason to buy from you. When you have such a website that’s themed on a topic, you can start to market other related products, giving more value to people visiting, since the site is proving to be an important resource.
3) Having Competition is a Good thing – In selling affiliate products you are not trying to first introduce the item. Instead, you are going to put your efforts in a proven market and fill in the gap between the buyers category and the sellers. You want to find a market that already has many buyers and sellers actively participating in it. By doing this you gain some insurance that your time and energy are not for naught.
4) Every Market is Different – The market “stamp collecting” is massive and has millions of monthly searches. Even so, stamp collecting isn’t a profitable affiliate market. Those keywords are used by people researching their hobby, not by people with their wallets in hand. On the other hand, people looking for ‘gardening tools’ will be more active buyers because they are only looking to buy what they need right now. In summary, just because a market looks like it’s always active does not mean that there are always sales. When you select your next affiliate product, remember to keep its “buyer potential” in mind.
These tips are really quite easy to follow. Using these exact strategies, I’ve been able to promote everything from computers to painting courses. It’s very lucrative, so get started right now.
